It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amanda Nichole Baggett, 36, of Prairieville, Louisiana. Amanda passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 12, 2026. Born on December 2, Amanda was the beloved daughter of Darryl and Theresa Hobdy and the loving sister of Alex and Ryan. She was a woman of unwavering love and support whose life was defined by selfless service, compassion, grace, and an enduring devotion to others. Amanda was an entrepreneur and the proud owner of her own cleaning service. Through her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic, she built lasting relationships with her clients and took great pride in providing for her family. Above all else, Amanda was a devoted wife and mother. She married the love of her life, Malcolm, in 2025, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Amanda's children, Makayla and Michael, were the greatest joy and purpose of her life. Her unconditional love, guidance, and countless sacrifices will continue to shape their lives for years to come. Amanda found happiness in the moments that brought people together. A devoted Disney enthusiast, she rarely went anywhere without her beloved mouse ears. She loved weekend getaways, exploring new places with her husband, and spending quiet Sunday afternoons by the pool at her parents' home surrounded by family. Amanda reminded all who knew her to embrace life's simple joys, treasure time together, and create memories that would last a lifetime.She was known for her compassionate heart and her willingness to listen without judgment. Amanda had an extraordinary gift for making others feel valued, heard, and loved, often placing the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, generosity, and quiet strength touched countless lives and will never be forgotten. Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Malcolm Baggett; her children, Makayla and Michael Pitre; her grandfather, Harrel Hobdy; her parents, Darryl and Theresa Hobdy; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex and Alicia Hobdy and Ryan and Kadyn Hobdy; her niece and nephews, Marley, Oliver, and Noah Hobdy; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stanley and Connie Noessel, Johnie Hobdy, and her beloved nephew, Riley Hobdy. Amanda's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and unconditional love. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, those who knew and loved her will find comfort in the countless lives she touched and in the enduring legacy of kindness, compassion, and love she leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Ascension Campus of Healing Place Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those wishing to honor Amanda's memory do so by extending kindness to others, supporting a family in need, or simply taking the time to create lasting memories with the people they love.
