Mrs. Emma Lee Calvit

Mrs. Calvit was born on October 31, 1927 in Natchez to the late Easter Swafford and the late Phillip Fleming. Emma Lee was retired. She was a member of the New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. Emma Lee enjoyed cooking, taking walks, watching television, gardening and going to Church which she loved. Her greatest passion was her family and taking care of children. Emma Lee was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton "Teeney" Calvit, Sr.; 3 brothers: John Fleming, Robert Fleming, Willie James Fleming, and a daughter-in-law; Johnella Jackson Calvit. She leaves to cherish her memories: 9 sons: George (Clarrisa) Fleming of Cleveland, OH, Wilbert (Ardena) Fleming, Julian (Lori) Calvit, Lee Edward (Joannie) Calvit, all of Providence, RI, Alton (Eyvonne) Calvit, Michael (Mary) Calvit, Larry Calvit, Randolph Calvit, all of Houston, TX and Walter Calvit of Natchez, MS; 2 daughters: Willie Dell (Lamar) Hembee and Debra Calvit of Plainsfield, NJ; 2 sisters: Catherine Hunter of Natchez and Elnora Turner of Leesville, LA; extended family: daughter: Aretha Matthews Calvit, Ervin Williams of Houston, TX, Samuel C. West of Clinton, MS, and James T. West of Natchez, MS, and other relatives and friends.
