    Mr. Garnett Chaney

    September 17, 1950 - January 1, 2022

    Garnett was born on September 17, 1950 to Irma Jones Ivory and Mose Chaney. He was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and a Cable Splice Technician with South CentralBell/AT&T for 41 years. Mr. Chaney was a member of the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church where he served with the Layman Ministry. He also held membership with the Wharlest Jackson Elks Lodge #1675. Garnett enjoyed hunting, fishing, and barbecuing/cooking. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Chaney; father; maternal grandparents, Rev. J.J. and Anna Jones; paternal grandparents, Jessie and Lucy Chaney; five uncles and eight aunts. Garnett leaves to cherish his memories: his loving mother, Irma Jones Ivory (Rev. Willis Ivory); sons: Garnett Chaney, Jr. (Michelle), Darrell Chaney, and Brian Chaney (Tuckeeyon); grandson, Daylon Broadway; stepbrother, Floyd Williams; aunt, Ruby Chaney; and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
