Ms. Mary Rose Winston

Mary Rose Winston was born March 13, 1923 to the late Geneva Early and James Winston in Natchez, MS. Mary received her formal education from Painters, the Public School of Natchez where she excelled in her studies. Mary accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. James Franklin. She later became a member of Zion Flower Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. Mary was employed with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Hicks, where she worked dutifully for over twenty years before retiring. In her leisure, she enjoyed helping others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Tommy Winston, Sr., three brothers: Eli Winston, Luther Winston, Sr., and James Winston, Jr., and one sister Emmaline Winston Washington. She leaves to cherish her memories; two daughters: Emma Ruth (Henry, Sr.) Sewell of Natchez, MS and Doris Gines Jointer of Brookhaven , MS; one son Allen Winston, Sr. of Natchez, MS; grandchildren: Judy (Albert) Johnson of Natchez, MS, Michael (Teresa) Gines and Adrain Gines all of Hattiesburg, MS, Tommy (Pavielle) Winston, Jr. of Southhaven, MS, Jessica Jointer of Brookhaven, MS and Courtney Winston of Monroe, LA; great-grandchildren: Jerald Johnson, Manyontrey Gines, Kalethia Gines, Michael Gines, Jr., Jourdan Johnson, Devin Gines, Alexandria Gines, and Ayden Tommy Winson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
