Mrs. Sarah Thompson Manning

Mrs. Manning was born on January 25, 1946 in Sibley, the daughter of James Thompson and Saint Arby Washington. She was a 1963 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and a 1967 graduate of Alcorn State University with studies at Indiana University at South Bend. Sarah was a retired elementary school teacher in South Bend, IN. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s Board, the Missionary Ministry, and Co-Worker’s Club and previously a member of Second Baptist Missionary Baptist Church in South Bend. Sarah also held membership with the MS Homemakers Volunteers and enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking and entertaining. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Ruby Thompson; Ernest Griffin, and niece, Laura Lanier. Survivors include three sons: Rev. Anthony Thompson and wife Tykeshia, Minister Archie Fedale Manning and wife Elizabeth, Jeffrey Allen Manning; sisters: Mary Jane Lyles, Bertha Lanier and husband Matthew, Linda Gooden, and Jacqueline Johnson and husband Caleb Ray; eleven grandchildren ; 10 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
