Mrs. Willie Mae Washington Robinson

Mrs. Robinson was born May 9, 1925 in Drew, MS, the daughter of Plez and Daisy Drake Washington. She was educated in Adams County and was a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church where she served on the Mother’s board and Willing Workers. Willie Mae was a civil rights activist and held membership with the NAACP. She enjoyed cooking, attending church services and community events and caring for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ida Mae Robertson; sister, Elodie West; brothers, Mack Washington and Samuel Washington, and grandson, Phillip “Pooh” McDaniels. Survivors include one son, William Robinson Jr.; six daughters: Elodie Hayden and husband Joseph, Mary Robinson, Barbara Harris, Sandra Robinson, Daisy Robinson and Patricia Robinson; two brothers, Edward Washington, Isaac Washington; one sister, Mildred James; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
